How long do natural coir doormats last?

Coir matting can last for many years depending on the amount of footfall over the mat and the care taken of the matting. The more footfall the matting is subject to the less time the coir will last. However, choosing a thicker and premium quality coir mat will help to increase the longevity of your doormat.

Our printing on our coir mats will also fade over time with footfall. Depending on the amount of footfall will determine the lifespan of these mat.

If you are thinking of having a printed coir doormat in a busy entrance with a lot of foot traffic e.g. a shop or pub we would recommend the printing is placed either at the top or bottom of the mat rather than centralised as the centre is often where people will wipe their feet. This will help to prolong the lifespan and quality of the printing on the mat.

Also, keeping your coir mat clean and dry (out of the elements) will help to increase its lifespan.
