How do I look after and care for my doormat?

Proper care helps keep your doormat looking great and extends its lifespan. Here’s how to care for different types of mats:

Natural Coir Doormats

• Keep your coir mat dry and indoors, avoiding excessive moisture and harsh weather.

• Regularly shake or brush the surface to remove dirt, dust, and loose fibres. This prevents debris buildup and helps maintain appearance and function.

Synthetic Coir Matting

• Brush or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and debris.

• Shake the mat outdoors to dislodge loose particles.

• For tougher dirt, you can hose the mat down, but make sure it’s fully dry before placing it back.

Needle Punch Matting

• Hoover regularly to clear dirt and dust.

• For deeper cleaning, hose down the mat, then allow it to completely dry before reinstalling.

Rubber, Rubber & Coir, or Coir & Wire Mats

• Shake or sweep/vacuum underneath regularly to remove dirt and debris.

• Hose down mats as needed to clean ingrained dirt or stains.

• Always let mats thoroughly dry before placing them back.

Washable Doormats
