Can I cut the coir matting?

We strongly advise against cutting our standard sized coir doormats or traditional backed coir matting yourself. These types of mats require edge finishing - such as re-stitching or bonding - to prevent the natural coir fibres from shedding and the mat from falling apart.

If you need a coir mat that can be cut to size, we recommend using our PVC backed coir matting. The PVC backing securely holds the coir fibres in place, allowing for clean, precise cuts with a Stanley knife. This option is ideal for custom dimensions and ensures the structural integrity of the mat is maintained after cutting.

For a flexible and hassle-free cutting solution, PVC backed coir is the way to go.
